footprints

I first saw this over at: It's Like Herding Cats - a pastor's life - It's a wordle of the words - the biggest were those most frequently used - to answer:

What do you think when you hear 'Southern Baptist'?

While I don't think all of these words are "bad" - I do think this collection of words makes a powerful/sad statement - & if people asked the same question about the denomination of the church we attend, the wordle would likely look very similar .... tho' hopefully not so much about our church in particular - but it seems that "denominational threshold" is so difficult for many to get past in order get thru' the door of many churches in the first place.

To me, this wordle resembles a footprint & I can't help but wonder how different it would/should look if instead people were asked:

What do you think when you hear 'Jesus'?

- & if true believers (regardless of denominations) in general (myself included!) did a better job of "walking the walk", how much more closely our footprints would/should resemble those of Jesus' sandals ... & how much more apt others would likely be to walk in them instead of running the other way.
