Are you in survival mode?

via
Only put off until tomorrow what you
are willing to die having left undone.

Fair Warning ... these are just random tho'ts here....not very well organized...but they are well thought out nonetheless ... at least in the sense that I have thought about them. a lot.

Farmgal's post started my wheels turning in this direction again recently as I considered what I would do differently if I knew I would likely die very soon. And it occurred to me that so much of our lives we spend living in "survival mode" - basically trying not to die. I thought about how obsessive we can be in that regard. I mean - let's face it...we live in a paranoid/phobic society.

I wondered ....

how would life be different if we weren't afraid to die?

&

just what is it that we're so afraid of?

&

"All of this" brought to mind a previous post "toward that end"

&

this song came to mind too:

John 11:25-26 25Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

No, I don't mind. Wasn't sure exactly what I was going to find when you said that, but you chose a good thing to link to. :-) I was surprised. Feel free to visit or link anytime.

Blessings,
C.C.

With apologies to all for not having thought this out very clearly, here is my most humble opinion. (I sincerely hope it does not offend anyone.)

We are here (by design or by chance – whichever view you want to insert) to co-exist with all that lives (every species, genus, etc.). While we are here, it is our daily interactions that reveal our soul and inner intentions. Are we good neighbors, good custodians of the Earth? Do we make honest business deals? Do we give of ourselves to those who need help? Do we treat our co-workers well, or speak poorly about them in order to promote ourselves?

I know I fall short (time and again!), but I try to live a life that I would be proud of if I knew my time was ending soon.

One I did NOT manage to avoid that had a tremedous effect on me was Valkyrie.
