What's the real low down? (TROMS Pt 8)

click here to learn more about:

In the New Testament, it's a Greek word formed from two others - "Tapeinos" (low to the ground) and "Phren" (our hearts/minds). Put all of that together and humility means bowing our hearts to God.

The process:

Humble yourselves before the Lord and

The Promise:

He will lift you up. James 4:10

***

Q. What's your heart saying in response?

A. My response here is more of a reaction - as I want to shout "Yes! DO IT! Now."

Tho' it is definitely the road less traveled, choosing to humble oneself is definitely the best way to go. The longer one puts it off, the more likely they are to BE humbled... & that's not a pleasant road to travel. For one thing, one doesn't move very fast when they're essentially one with the road because they've been brought practically parallel to it (aka real. low. down.)

You know you are "here" when the only way to look ... is up!

You know you've been there, done that when you submit to Him - to His way & to His will - & when He lifts you up, you don't feel quite like your old self anymore. For one thing (among perhaps many others), where there was pride, there is now ... humility.

***

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Proverbs 11:2
