Picked Blueberries, Peaches & Nectarines Tues at George Hill Orchard w/ our girls and friends. My eyes deceive me! Brought home so(!) many bbs!! Spoke w/ the owner who began it all in 1972 w/ only a few apple trees. Neat to see & enjoy the beautiful legacy he's established in less than my lifetime....which is now acres & acres of well manicured apples, peaches, pumpkins, blueberries, nectarines, grapes, etc. He shared about how they manage to scrape out an existence but struggle to make a living - & that just seems so sad/backwards/wrong... On a happy note...we enjoyed a gorgeous day, very fruitful harvest & I'm hoping to can peaches/nectartines w/ hubby on Sat. Already feasted on bb pancakes for dinner one night after kayaking :) Check out that pretty peach w/ the sunglasses :)
