Crockpot Chocolate Cake

If you've never made cake in a crockpot you really should give this a try. It's so easy, so moist & so yummy! :) I made this one recently for my son's birthday & my husband requested it for his - which was today.

CROCK POT CHOCOLATE CAKE
1 box chocolate cake mix
8 oz sour cream
1 pkg instant chocolate pudding
1 cup chocolate chips
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
1 cup water
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into lightly greased 5qt crock pot, metal coffee can or Crock Pot Cake Bake pan. Cover.

Cook 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.

So interesting! Which do you use - the crock, a coffee can, or the specialty pan?
Sounds perfect for the summer when it's already too hot to turn on the oven!

Good Morning, Farmgal! I just use my crockpot. No specialty pan at all. Tho' baking it in a coffee can does sound like fun.....maybe we'll try that in the coals of a campfire sometime! I suppose you'd want to put foil over the open end in that case.

I still want to try the idea you shared of making individual dessert cakes in tuna cans!

NO WAY! Amazing!

IF you try it, let me know! It is no Julia Child's recipe to be sure....but nonetheless, it is scrumptious!

Are you kidding???? Honestly, I've cooked small chocolate cakes in mugs, a cake in a can in my bbq, but this is news to me.

Do you vouch for it?? I'll give it a try.

Thanks,

When I said that I'd baked small chocolate cakes in mugs, well, I did that in our microwave and it was fantastic.
