a unique gift

video

Playmaker wrote this song as a gift for her best friend/boyfriend's 16th birthday. I wish I had filmed her when she played it for him for the first time last night at the surprise party we had for him here at our house - but I filmed her after the party instead. I've enjoyed hearing her compose it & find it to be such a unique & personal gift. She even named it after him.

It's the first song she's ever composed. So sweet.

Enjoy!

I.Love.It! I got chills listening to the beautiful happy, but sweetly sad music.

And it's "green"...no plastic or extra packaging... :)

WOW! She has a lot to live up to next year when his Bday rolls around! You should have nicknamed her YANNI instead of playmaker :)

I just closed my eyes and listened. MMmmmm. It was beautiful. I hope she composes more. Amazing talent.

And she looks so graceful and lovely playing it, with her hair swooped to the side like that and her classy little dress. You must and your husband must be absolutely smitten with pride!

Thank you for sharing such a sweet, intimate part of all of your lives with us! And tell PLaymaker thank you, too!

Thank you ladies. Kary - I hope you enjoy the eggnog french toast! We're making eggnog pancakes today! so I'll be thinking of you :)

Farmgal & Lupine I'm so glad you enjoyed it too. She certainly enjoyed reading these comments. & Yes - we are SO proud of her. She's worked so faithfully for years w/ an excellent piano teacher who comes to our house to give her lessons. Together they've composed unique arrangements of familiar hymns/church songs before - I'll try to post their beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace sometime soon. To see her want to take it all to a much different level & her passion (as evidenced by how much time she put into it) has just been delightful to witness. She has a digital piano in her room but generally prefers to play on her keyboard which she has affectionately named Eddie Schmoutz ...I'll hafta post on how that name came about too - it's a sweet story :)

Lupine...hmmm - ph I SHOULD change her name. YANNI...it is fitting now huh?! :) You are so clever.

This is so beautiful! I just got round to watching the video and will certainly come back again.
So sweet; what a lovely melody...
Tell her I love the way she plays.
Yanni, yes. I like him, too. I have a cassette(!!! do you remember these?) with his music. I'll go listen to it right now while doing the dishes.
PS. I think the book may have arrived. I have a notification from the post office to go get a parcel and I'm not expecting anything else. I'll let you know. Looking forward to start reading it.
