That's MY boy!!...

...on the left! :)

Spokes took 2nd place in a hometown cyclo-cross race Sunday! I cheered like CRAZY!!!! He ReALlY wanted to win this one & the race was soooooo incredibly close the whole entire time (aprx 45 min)  that I guess I felt like perhaps if a screamed louder or pushed him a little harder it would make all the difference in the world.  The winner was dubbed New England Regional Champion for the New England Bicycle Racing Assoc (NEBRA) but in the end (unfortunately after all was said & done) Spokes was given that honor & the red, white & green jersey that went with it bc, as it turned out, the winner was not from New England after all. I'm so prouda that kid -- certainly for how well he did - but even moreso for the character he displays when he races...perseverance, really hard work, good sportsmanship & the list goes on.  He would not toot his own horn - but I'm quite proud (can ya tell?!) to do that honor :)

How exciting!
And PROUD you should be! I know exactly what you mean about feeling that if you just cheered a little harder and louder you could actually make it happen!:) You probably felt as if you had pedaled that bike with him when the race was over:)

As far as "tooting his horn",...
what better place than with us bloggers?!:-)
