Cyclo-Cross

Went to Spoke's cyclocross race the other night. This is a new type of racing for him & we hadn't been to one of these races yet. What fun! Basically it was an an obstacle course race for cyclists built into the side of a ski slope. Adding to the difficulty that night was the fact that it poured rain earlier so the course was soggy & mud-boggy. I can see why he likes it so much ...it's fast, challenging, competitive and, in this case, rEeeeAaLly muddy fun:)

I just saw some of this two weeks ago at the ski resort where we went for the wedding, but I didn't know what it was called at the time! I recognize the type of roped-off course, and your description of the muddy turns. We were only able to watch for a short time (due to other obligations) but I was amazed at the cyclists riding up the steep hills!

Hi Farmgal ... yep it sound as if, indeed, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You're right. The cyclists are amazing. I am continually amazed at my son's perseverence & determination in races.

Sounds like every boy's dream, getting dirty and going fast.
