After a year of almost unfathomable hardship in Haiti, more than a million displaced people still live under tents and tarpaulins. Reconstruction has barely begun. Officials’ sole point of pride six months after the earthquake — that disease and violence had been averted — vanished with the outbreak of cholera and political unrest over a disputed presidential election.

15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:15-17

My son and daughter in law went to Haiti to help this summer. There they met a wonderful ten year old girt. She was crushed under a building for 3 days before found Desperately need surgery on her legs. The Denver Children hospital agreed to do it at my daughter in laws request free. Now the American embassy is unwilling to grant her a Visa.
That is SO incredibly sad. i don't get it. I just don't get it! I shared your comment w/ my family ... definitely heartbreaking...
Are your girls doing this through your church? What a wonderful opportunity for all concerned.
Hi Mug. They're going w/ another area church youth group. I would like to go too - but I'm glad they're going together. Please keep them in your prayers.
