High atop our rooftop yesterday....

We were up there for hours, the two of us.

But we did it!!  Our roof is clear!  Hooooraaaah!

I have not done that much physically exhausting work in a looong time.
It actually felt good & I reveled for a bit in the sense of accomplishment when we were finally done!

Whew!

Yiota took the words out of my mouth! I'm from GA originally and have been in FL for the last 12 years. I've never seen a winter quite as harsh as this one has been for all you up north! Excuse me while I scroll up and take a look at the beautiful blog header of yours to remind me that Spring is on the way!

Oh My Goodness! I never realized you had to shovel and clear snow off of your roofs, too! I knew pathways had to be cleared....but, I guess it makes a LOT of sense to get all of that off the roof before it slides off on top of someone or worse?

I know what you mean about the physical work-out! it IS a good feeling..., but are ya sore today?

I hope the sun came out to visit you, like it did to us, today. The warmth felt great and helped the Great Snowmelt begin :)

It's a good feeling to know that your home is safe from the potential hazards that snow/ice brings. Did you get a chance to sit down and enjoy your favorite hot beverage after all that work?

Hi all. Yiota - I'd love to trade some snow for Greek Island sun!

Bunny - I grew up in AZ...we basically had summer & fall there....maybe much like the South? I will say New England weather does keep things interesting. I enjoy weather in general - but we've been here about 10 yrs now & I've "survived" an ice storm (about 8 days w/o electricity!) And I think it was last yr when snow & ice arranged themselves just right to channel a "river" thru' our basement window! - & now this....we've had a lot of snow this yr & very little melt so it just keeps piling up.

Hi Mug - The big concern is the weight ...If one has a lot of snow that's heavy in & of itself but if they then get rain or a wintry mix the snow acts like a sponge & it gets wicked heavy! We were expecting something along that line this wknd - but it wasn't so bad. I'm glad the roof is clear now tho' --- puts my mind at ease. I'm a bit stiff/sore today...the more I move around the better I feel tho' :)

Hi Farmgal...Yes we DID see the sun off & on today & things began to melt! Whata treat :) Now just hoping all this snow melts gradually (key word here) - so as not to flood! One day at a time. As for now - I'm enjoying a hot cuppa tea "w/ you" :)

Hi Lupine. I was nervous! --- but once I got up there I was surprised how much traction the snow actually provides. Wish you coulda seen me....scootin' around oh so carefully w/ my behind securely packed .... in snowpack :)
