Funny - I was just telling my husband that so much of why I want to be a nurse doesn't require a license...the way you've been caring for your mom is a good example/illustration of what I was trying to say.

I hope your mom is better soon.MYstory of HIStoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06938436011404677610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146405233153268006.post-83073518885548819552009-08-23T19:25:34.266-04:002009-08-23T19:25:34.266-04:00Well, I thought about this blog today....My mother...Well, I thought about this blog today....My mother (who is 72-ish lives alone out in the countryin a big ol' antebellum home....Anyway, she called bright and early this morning....Bless her heart, she had been up all night with an upset stomach and was feeling extremely weak & faint. I stayed the day with her (I have another sister who will spend the night). Anyway, after i had been there several hours, Mama weakly said, "you're a good nurse." :)Mughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11217967283422615177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146405233153268006.post-54521204976722631712009-08-23T08:19:24.142-04:002009-08-23T08:19:24.142-04:00Wow - what a load of encouragement here.

But...I still think about the nursing bit and wonder if I should try it now at the ripe old age of....gulp!...53?

Personally, I think YOU should "go for it"! You could take one or 2 classes at a time....(You're going to be quite a busy woman having your little (was it a coffee shop/bookstore?) and becoming a nurse!)

4 Bushel Farmgal and Lupines both made good points...."It's never too late...", and It could be an excellent ministry!

As for me? Well, teaching in itself is a ministry, so I may stick with it while I continue to ponder the "nursing notion" in the back of my head for a while longer.

P.S.
